Squires his name was. He wrote about the Dardanelles and he wrote about going fighting in the Dardanelles. I think one story his mother used to tell us was that he was in charge and if they didn’t go over he had to shoot them. I kept this because it’s a family treasure. His mother did write. We wrote it all out then on another piece of paper. It was very small so I couldn’t understand it really. He was gassed but he came home but it affected his stomach, some of it came away. He had no children after he came home. He had 10 altogether.
